What we sell
We sell digital files only, such as spreadsheets, PDFs and templates. We do not ship physical goods. Product pages describe what is included, the file formats and how the files work with different apps.
Prices and payment
- All prices are in US dollars (USD). Your bank or card issuer may convert the amount into your own currency and may charge a conversion fee.
- Sales tax, GST/HST or VAT may be added at checkout where the law requires it. The total is shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record and reseller for purchases made on this website, so Stripe's checkout terms also apply to the payment and Stripe calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT. We never see or store your full card details.
- We may change prices at any time. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
Delivery
Files are delivered electronically straight after payment, through a download page and an email to the address you gave at checkout. Download links stay active for a limited time and a limited number of downloads, so please save your files promptly. Please enter your email address carefully, because it is where your links are sent.
Licence
Your purchase gives you a licence to use the files, not ownership of them. The licence terms are on the licence page and form part of these terms.
Refunds
Because digital files are delivered instantly, all sales are final once downloaded, except where a file is broken or missing. See the refunds page.
Not advice
Our products and guides are planning and record-keeping tools and general information. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal or medical advice, and nothing we publish promises income, savings, leads or any other result. Calculator outputs are estimates based on the figures you enter. Check important decisions with a qualified professional.
Using the website
You agree not to misuse the site, try to access the private download or order systems without permission, interfere with its operation, copy our files for redistribution, or use automated tools to overload it. We may suspend access to downloads if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.
Intellectual property
The Chalkline name, logo, website content and product files are owned by 15919169 Canada Inc. or its licensors. Other companies' names, such as Meta, Facebook, Instagram, Google, Etsy and Gumroad, belong to their owners. Chalkline is independent and not affiliated with them.
Our responsibility to you
We check our files before release and describe them honestly, but we cannot guarantee that they will suit your needs or that they will be error free, or that they will work identically in every app or version. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Third-party links and marketplaces
Some products are also sold on third-party marketplaces such as Etsy and Gumroad. Purchases there are governed by that marketplace's own terms and policies, as well as our licence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be dealt with in the courts of Ontario, unless consumer law in your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
